Assoc. Posidonia

Assoc. Posidonia (Assoc. Posidonia oceanica) is an International non-profit Association. It promotes a culture of peace that respects the ecological environment through events, awareness campaigns and tourism. The organization was founded in 2015 in Majorca (Spain) as a natural follow-up connected with the former Posidonia Festival.

Assoc. Posidonia is based in Palma de Mallorca (Spain), where its main activities include the Festival Posidonia Mallorca, it is composed of professionals from different sectors and collaborates with an international network of partners .

Posidonia oceanica as a key element for the conservation of marine and coastal ecosystems and as an essential body for life and the sustainability of our seas and coasts.

Values: The entire activity of the association is performed based on the values of sustainability, honesty, respect for the environment, playful learning, direct, cooperative, proactive and positive action.

Objectives:

• Raising awareness and make public opinion and stakeholders sensitive to the need of protecting Posidonia oceanica, the sea and coastal ecosystems, and in general the environment.
• Promoting sustainable and responsible tourism.

Cultural Line

–    Festival Posidonia Mallorca: International Festival of Arts, Nature & Tourism.
–    Other specific cultural actions.

Educational Line

–    Implementation of an educational offer in different areas (schools, associations, companies, divers, sailors, etc.)
–    Promoting the popularization of science

Information Line

Continuous information about the issues related with posidonia, art, environment, and tourism.

Lobbying Line

–    Direct or indirect promotion of actions for the preservation of the posidonia and the environment.
–    Influence sectors directly related.

Sustainable Tourism Line

Encourage sustainable and responsible tourism, and posidonia as a quality indicator of tourist destinations.

About the Logo

Antonio Ventura and Adriano Campioni are graphic designers from Rome, they participated together (with two different creations) to the public Call for Proposals for the new Posidonia Festival logo in 2012, and together enjoyed the trip they won with Adriano Campioni´s creation that was the Posidonia Festival logo from 2012 to 2015. In 2016, after the decision to not use anymore that logo, the Association Posidonia asked them to use Antonio Ventura´s creation as the logo for its activities. They liked the idea, and Antonio Ventura also designed the Posidonia Mallorca version of the logo.
